Media Center
Mission Statement
The mission of the Bay Creek Middle School Media Program is to enhance student achievement by creating an atmosphere where learning is nurtured and actively pursued. This will assist students in becoming proficient readers and responsible users of information. We want to encourage a desire to read, inquire, collaborate, create, and share knowledge. Readers Rally
The Bay Creek Middle School Readers Rally Club's mission is to foster a love of reading, connect readers, share reading experiences, enrich student knowledge of literary genres, and engage in fun discussions about favorite books.
Who is eligible for the club?
The BCMS Readers Rally Reading Club is open to students in all grade levels (6th-8th) who have a passion for reading and enjoy discussing literature with other book enthusiasts. Please contact Mrs. Pope in the media center, if you would like to join our club.
Summary of Club Activities
The BCMS Readers Rally students read 10 books every school year from a pre-determined list of books provided by the county and discuss the books to prepare for the Gwinnett County Readers Rally Championship that takes place every February at Peachtree Ridge High School. Click here to see the Readers Rally books for the 2024-2025 school year.
Ten BCMS Readers Rally Reading Club members, who will become experts in the 10 book selections, will be selected to represent our school in this event and will compete against other Gwinnett middle schools in a quiz bowl format, answering questions about the books.
Meeting Location/Times
BCMS Readers Rally Club meetings take place in the Media Center. Announcements are made regularly during morning announcements regarding scheduled meetings.
Join the Club!
There is no cost to join our BCMS Readers Rally Reading Club. However, students may need to purchase one or more of the 10 books discussed during our meetings and a binder to keep track of their reading portfolio. Also, members will be required to purchase the Readers Rally T-shirt for the championship.
