Purpose of Summer Learning

Summer Learning aims to provide extended learning opportunities to support the grade-level readiness of students who need to meet promotional criteria through an engaging learning environment that includes hands-on experiential enrichment activities.
 

• Summer school hours: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm | Lunch hour: 11:45 am to 12:15 pm
• AM Session (Academic 1): 9:00 am to 11:45 am
• PM Session (Academic 2): 12:15 pm to 3:00
   

Scheduled summer school dates:
June 10 through June 28 (June 19 is a holiday)

Summer school will be for those who need to meet promotion requirements. Only the four core classes will be offered. Students can take a max of 2 courses in summer school. The dates for students are June 10-June 28 with June 19th as a holiday. The hours for students are 9:00 am to 3:00 pm if they are taking two classes. Parents will receive more communication through email.

Summer School Dates: June 10 through June 28 (except June 19 is a Student Holiday)
 

• • Students can take a max of 2 classes.
  • Students who only need 1 class do not have to stay for both periods.
  • Parents will have the option to sign up for bus transportation, but there will only be 1 pick-up time and 1 drop-off time; this means if a child only needs 1 class and that class is scheduled in the AM, then the child can ride the bus, but the bus will not bring them home until 3:00.  The parent could have the child ride the bus in the morning and then the parent can pick up the child after the AM class.
  • Students with IEP goals can attend summer school. 
  • IEP goals will not be addressed in summer school. 
  • Classroom and testing accommodations will be addressed for IEPs and 504s.
  • Breakfast & lunch are served at no cost to the student.
    
    Parents will receive an email link from the county to sign up for their child if they qualify for summer school.  The deadline for parents to sign up for transportation will be May 10.

Summer EOG Retest Dates:
○ Tuesday, June 25: Reading Grade 8
○ There is no math retest this summer due to the new math Milestones.
