A Letter from the Principal
Principal
July 2024
Dear BCMS Students and Families,
As summer ends, we are preparing to start the 2024/2025 school year at Bay Creek Middle School. We extend a warm welcome to all our returning families and a special greeting to those new to our school community. We are proud of our students’ academic accomplishments, including a cluster graduation rate of 92.9%, and we are excited to continue this journey with you and your children.
Please take note of the following important information to help ensure a smooth start to the school year:
1. Open House: We invite you to join us for the Open House on Thursday, August 1st, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. This will be an excellent opportunity to meet your child's teacher, familiarize yourself with the school building, and connect with representatives from the transportation department if needed. Before Open House, please see the email from GCPS for the 2024-2025 Orientation Forms (ParentSquare) to sign off on the documents for the beginning of the year and visit MyPaymentsPlus for student contributions. Also, Berens Frozen Custard will be there selling cold treats!
2. Away for the Day Policy: At Bay Creek Middle School, we are committed to creating a conducive learning environment for all students. As part of our policies, we operate as an "Away for the Day" school, which means all students must power off and store their cell phones while on school premises. Please review the entire policy using the provided Away for the Day Policy link.
3. Behavior Expectations: We hold our students to high standards of behavior, emphasizing:
Respect Others
Accept Responsibility
Model Kindness
Strive for Success
Our school follows GCPS policies and procedures. The BCMS Behavior Step System link provides additional details about our behavior expectations and the BCMS Behavior Step System.
4. Dress Code: Our dress code is designed to support a positive and focused learning environment. Please ensure that your child adheres to the guidelines outlined in the student/parent handbook. For your convenience, the dress code details are also included in this email.
Clothing Should
